osition Summary

We are currently seeking a self-motivated and team-oriented professional for a Corrosion Engineer position in Integrity Management Section. The candidate should have experience in the areas of internal/external corrosion and stress corrosion cracking of pipelines and may also be asked to perform work outside of these primary tasks. In depth knowledge & experience in mechanical metallurgy, electrochemistry, root cause failure analysis is a plus. The corrosion engineer is responsible for supporting our pipeline clients with various pipeline integrity programs and consulting/ contracting needs ranging from field data processing to regulatory compliance related aspects of the company's business. The duties include but are not limited to

  • Providing technical support on corrosion control in the integrity programs with advanced qualifications and experience including material fatigue, fracture, stress corrosion cracking, root cause failure analysis, direct assessments (DA), coating degradation, NDT/NDE etc.
  • Ability to provide impactful inputs to solve sophisticated oil/gas asset integrity issues. For example, identify and predict crack growth rate in pipelines corrosion with optimized technical solutions which require extensive knowledge on mechanical metallurgy, electrochemistry and finite element analysis.
  • Ability to model or quantitatively assess pipeline corrosion and crack growth with the in-depth knowledge of corrosion and mechanics mechanisms and consistent analyses of data and information available from internal and external resources.
  • Experience, skill and ability to provide solutions for corrosion control projects with the comprehensive understanding of material degradation mechanisms and performance of field survey methodologies under the specific service conditions.
  • Develop pipeline stress and stress corrosion cracking (SCC) analysis programs for commercial clients
  • Ability to execute the stress analysis and cracking analysis with commercial software such as FlawPro and Crackwise.
  • Identify potential problems with company procedures written to comply with state and federal regulations and department technical policies and practices.
  • Participate in CP and AC mitigation etc corrosion control design projects
  • Communicate with internal and external clients to identify potential business opportunities
  • Provide technical support for new program development, execution and delivery
Requirements:
Qualifications
  • Engineering Degree, related field of scientific study, or equivalent relevant technical experience.
  • 10+ years (BS degree) or 7+ years (MS degree) of experience in integrity management.
  • Working knowledge of NACE, ASME, PHMSA and API regulations/codes related to integrity management
  • Working knowledge of atmospheric corrosion/mitigation, coating failure inspection etc.
  • Working knowledge of corrosion control techniques, including CP, DA, field survey, MIC and AC mitigation etc.
The position requires a candidate with excellent oral and written communication skills.
  • A highly developed ability with PC's and office computer software is required.
  • A self-starter and self-motivator, with the ability to perform effectively with minimal supervision
  • Strong organization skills and attention to detail
  • High energy person with positive mindset
  • Ability to work flexible hours, occasionally more than a normal work schedule.
  • Ability to work independently and/or with multidisciplinary teams.
  • Ability to work efficiently under conditions of multiple deadlines and changing priorities
Requirements
  • Location: Remote with potential to be office based in the future
  • Part or Full time depends on workload
  • Travel to field locations may be required (no more than 20%)
  • May also be asked to perform work outside the primary tasks
