Bord Gáis Energy are currently recruiting for a number of key positions as Plumbers/Heating Engineers. We will upskill you to be able to carry out heat pump and gas appliance installation, servicing and repairs work, and providing our customers with an excellent in-home customer experience. You’ll also receive training in smart technologies, heat pumps, gas, oil, and other renewables on an ongoing basis.
On successful completion of your training, you will carry out a range of home product services in a safe and competent manner, including gas appliance installation, servicing and repairs, heat pump installation, servicing, and repairs, as well as general plumbing and heating system maintenance, all in line with current regulations, industry best practice, and Bord Gáis Energy’s technical operational procedures.

About the Role
- Installation of central heating boilers, including system and control upgrades
- Installation of and maintenance of heat pumps to retrofit properties
- Installation of and maintenance of oil boilers
- Service, repair, and safety inspection of all domestic heating appliances
- Service and repair of domestic central heating and hot water plumbing systems
- First time diagnosis and repair of heating appliances and system faults
- Upgrade and installation of central heating system controls with smart technologies
- Carry out a range of electrical safety tests on domestic heating installations
- Correctly locate, install, and verify CO alarms to current gas standards
- Carry out a range of testing with Combustion Gas Analysers including room safety
- Responsibility for all aspects of central heating installation and customer safety
- Generate, organise, and maintain company and regulatory documentation
- Participation in the Bord Gáis Energy wellbeing, diversity, inclusion, safety, and quality systems
About You
- You’ll have a National craft certificate in plumbing
- You’re driven individual with excellent planning and organisational skills
- Aptitude for fault finding logic would be an advantage
- Full clean Irish driving license
- Strong interpersonal and customer skills, with the ability to work with the general public and within a wider team with specific targets
- A positive, safe attitude and approach to all work and training activities
- RGII registration an advantage
