Mental Health Support Worker required for education setting
Long term, full-time opportunity, minimum £80+ per day

The School
This is a specialist provision which provides quality education for children with complex backgrounds, mental health issues and sometimes challenging behaviour. Pupils have mental health needs associated with Anxiety, Depression, Self harm, Autism, AHDH, ODD and Schizophrenia. They require a strong and resilient support worker who will be patient, caring, understanding, firm and fair.
Person Specification
- Previous experience of supporting students with SEN, mental health and/or challenging behaviour is preferred
- Confident, calm and resilient
- Knowledge and understanding of safeguarding procedures and full safeguarding training will be provided
- Reliable & punctual
- Ability to risk assess and follow instructions
- Ability to build rapport with individual pupils
- You will be responsible for supporting a small class of around 3-6 students
- Support the teacher in delivering the learning objectives for the lesson
- You will use resources to help each student understand and engage in lessons
- You will be a go to mentor, providing pastoral support and emotional guidance to the pupils
