Job description

This is an exciting opportunity for a band 5 mental health practitioner to join us in Liverpool Fresh CAMHS at Alder Hey Children’s NHS Foundation Trust. We encourage applications from qualified nurses, social workers, occupational therapists and experienced children and young people’s wellbeing practitioners.

We also encourage applications from individuals with a degree-level qualification in a subject relevant to health and social care who are able to provide a completed knowledge, skills and attitudes (KSA) portfolio (https://babcp.com/Accreditation/Provisional-Accreditation/Knowledge-Skills-and-Attitudes).

We are looking for individuals who have skills and experience in engaging families who are from communities that may be at increased risk of social exclusion or marginalisation.

We would encourage anybody who applied for a similar post that we advertised a few months ago to apply again if they are still interested. We were fortunate to receive lots of high-quality applications but at that time were limited in the number of interviews and posts we could offer.

In addition to our main hospital site, we offer paediatric services at a number of community sites and hold local clinics across Merseyside, Cumbria, Shropshire, Wales and the Isle of Man. We also provide specialist inpatient care for children with complex mental health needs at our Alder Park Building in North Liverpool.

  • Practice, evidence, reflect on and demonstrate an ability to manage one’s own caseload in conjunction with the requirements of the team.
  • Attend multi-disciplinary and multi-agency meetings relating to referrals or children and young people in treatment, where appropriate, both for personal educational benefit in discussion with senior leaders, or to provide direct assistance.
