The Club
The Oxford and Cambridge Club is an exclusive private members Club with a Grade II*-listed Clubhouse in central London. The Club has 46 bedrooms, a fine dining restaurant, 3 banqueting suites, 2 bars, 2 squash courts, a billiards room and extensive libraries. The Club has nearly 5000 members.
The Role
We are recruiting for a Membership Assistant to join the Secretariat team. The ideal candidate will have previous experience in a similar role. We are looking for someone who is highly personable, passionate about delivering five star service in a busy working environment. The role is a full-time position working 40 hours per week, usually Monday to Friday from 9.30am to 6pm.
The Person
Skills and Knowledge:
- Previous administrative experience
- Proficiency in Microsoft office applications, especially Outlook, Excel and Word
- Prior experience of working with databases
- A good standard of literacy and numeracy
- Have good communication skills, engage well with the others and very much a team player
- Excellent communications skills with good spoken and written English
- Good attention to detail
Desirable:
- Previous experience in a membership role
- Previous financial experience
Main Duties
- Deal with enquires from potential members on a daily basis by telephone, email, letter and in person
- Verify that candidates are eligible for membership with the appropriate university
- Deal with subscription enquiries on a daily basis, by telephone, email, letter and in person
- Meet new Members and prospective Members giving tours of the building
- Attend evening Recruitment Parties and out of house Recruitment Parties at Oxford and Cambridge
- Attend Freshers’ Fairs at Oxford and Cambridge
- Produce monthly membership statistics and graphs
- Processing direct debit payment applications and membership payments received by cheque or credit card.
- Processing new membership applications, including registering details on the database system and producing and sending out membership packs.
- Enter new Members’ billing details onto database following election
- Attending, taking notes and producing minutes, agendas and supporting paperwork for meetings.
