The base for the post can be Prince Philip Hospital, Llanelli or Glien House, Johnstown, Carmarthen.
We are looking for a Medical Workforce Assistant to join our team to provide comprehensive administrative support. Based within the Medical Workforce Department, the Medical Workforce Assistant will deal with medical workforce queries, process correspondence and support the team with pre-employment checks for ad hoc locum doctors and clinical attachments.
The role involves working in a busy office environment. The successful candidate will need to be organised and efficient as well as being able to work well under pressure.
The ideal candidate will have excellent communication skills with proven recent administrative experience, including keyboard skill and experience of Microsoft Word, Excel and database systems. Candidates will also need to demonstrate the ability to use own initiative when prioritising their workload in order to meet tight timescales.
The postholder will support the Medical Workforce team with monitoring sickness for medical and dental staff as well as onboarding doctors onto the medical bank which includes undertaking a full range of pre employment checks.
Being an effective communicator in order to establish good working relationships with a wide range of staff including service mangers, clinical leads and medical staff.
The postholder will also advise on terms and conditions of employment.
The ability to speak Welsh is desirable for this post; English and/or Welsh speakers are equally welcome to apply.
