Psychiatry-UK LLP is the leading provider of online mental health services in the United Kingdom, made up of three large chambers of consultant psychiatrists divided by specialty, as well as nurse prescribers and non-clinical support services, assessing and treating 2000+ patients each month within the NHS and private sector across all ages.
Job Summary
We are seeking experienced Medical Secretaries to support our expanding consultant team. You will be able to demonstrate a proven medical secretary background in order to be shortlisted.
Ideal candidates will have:
- excellent written and verbal communication skills, and a good working knowledge of Excel
- a friendly, approachable and supportive manner
- outstanding attention to detail
- excellent time management skills and the ability to prioritise work,
- problem-solving skills,
- strong organisational skills with the ability to multi-task
- ability to remain calm under pressure
- an ability to type, create documents, reports and spreadsheets
- ability to work collaboratively as well as under own supervision
Duties will include (this list is not exhaustive):
- acting as the main point of contact for consultants in your consultant peer groups and liaising with the wider organisation, to ensure that queries are actioned and resolved in a timely way
- triaging your consultant tasks and actioning any relevant admin tasks accordingly
- flagging any clinical tasks to the consultant in order of priority, and reassigning tasks to the relevant person/team as required
- letter and task monitoring
- liaising with patients, GPs and other health professionals and external agencies,
- communicating with your consultants when relevant information/updates/processes are announced
- monitoring outstanding payments for upcoming appointments and follow up on payments being made in line with our T&Cs
- monitoring consultant annual leave
- welcoming and assisting new consultants joining Psychiatry-UK
- ensuring that processes are being adhered and maintaining logs
