We are seeking a Medical Science Liaison (MSL) to join us in our GI division! This role serves as the local medical voice of AZ in the disease area of interest and builds a local medical strategy to improve patient care and outcomes in their territory. The MSL is an established field-based professional with extensive scientific, clinical and therapeutic area expertise responsible for providing medical and scientific support for AstraZeneca's oncology marketed products, new indications for current products, and compounds in development.

What you’ll do
- Act as the local medical leader responsible for developing a tailored strategy to meet the AZ USMA priorities in the disease area, as well as the local specificities and patient needs.
- Develop strong working relationships in different external business settings (e.g. academia, hospitals, managed markets, private practices)
- Lead scientific exchanges with oncologists and key members of the MDT
- Lead peer to peer scientific/medical interactions
- Gather insights on the treatment landscape, evolving healthcare environment and practice, barrier to optimal treatment and patient care or opportunities to improve outcomes of patients with cancer
- Discuss with KOLs data and educational gaps to ensure adequate use of our medicines and to inform our R&D strategy to address patient needs
- Stay current with scientific knowledge and attend relevant scientific meetings and conferences.
- Collaborate with Clin ops on Ph3 trials from feasibility to execution of trials
Minimum Qualifications
- Advanced scientific degree required (i.e. Pharm D, MD/DO, PhD, PA or NP) in a relevant health science or clinical subject area
- 2+ years of MSL experience or relevant therapeutic area experience
- Demonstrated expertise in discussing scientific content and context to multiple audiences
- Ability to express ideas clearly in written documentation, one-on-one conversations and in small group dialogues
- Ability to work independently and in groups
- Ability to navigate within a matrixial environment
- Strong understanding of clinical study design and protocols
- Basic understanding of the Healthcare system, clinical trial methodology, statistics and regulatory environment
- Excellent project management ability
- Ability to travel (40-60% by car and plane domestic)
Preferred Qualifications
- Doctorate strongly preferred in a health science or clinical field
