Band 5 Medical Photographer
We require a Medical Photographer to join our small friendly department covering all areas of the Royal Berkshire NHS Foundation Trust.
The ideal candidate will have experience working within a medical photography and ophthalmology environment.
Knowledge of video capture and Adobe applications such as Adobe Photoshop and Premiere Pro would be advantageous.
Responsible for providing a high quality medical photography service, which includes clinical and non-clinical photography, graphic design, video recording and post production, and ophthalmic imaging.
Excellent communication/interpersonal skills, and a thorough understanding of image management / digital technology is essential.
There will be an occasional requirement to visit other hospitals within the Trust group.

Services are provided to hospital clinicians and general practitioners and the post-holder is required to liaise with these, other healthcare professionals, patients and their representatives.
The post-holder will be required to perform photographic and video procedures of varying complexity, some of which require a high degree of skill and experience.
The post-holder will exercise autonomy within professional and managerial boundaries and will be required to verify and validate completed work.
To meet these challenges you will be outgoing and self-motivated with the ability to switch from being a committed team player to being able to work alone when required.
KNOWLEDGE/EXPERIENCE
Essential
- Good knowledge of digital imaging systems.
- Hospital environment and medical terminology.
- Understanding of and commitment to confidentiality and all governance issues related to Medical Illustration.
- Excellent knowledge of professional photographic equipment, digital imaging workflows.
- Professional knowledge over the whole range of medical illustration disciplines.
- Understanding of equality and diversity issues and how this affects patients.
Essential
- Advanced level use of Industry standard software programs related to imaging including, Adobe Photoshop, Adobe InDesign and Adobe Premiere Pro.
- Advanced level of practical and technical knowledge of DSLR photographic equipment.
- Knowledge in set-up of controlled lighting arrangements.
- Use of Microsoft Office programs, email and Internet.
- Customer care skills including a pleasant and professional telephone manner.
