Medical Laboratory Assistant | Pathology | Salary dependent on experience | Permanent | Full Time | Sutton

Spire St Anthony’s are looking for a Medical Lab Assistant to join them on a full time basis. You will be working in a busy lab environment so attention for detail is a must as well as a clear understanding of how to deal with patient data and deliver outstanding customer service to both your colleague’s and patients.

Founded in 1904, Spire St Anthony's Hospital delivers care through skilled and dedicated staff working together. With a completed £27m development investment, we provide very high quality healthcare to patients around Sutton, Epsom, Surrey and South London. We have six operating theatres coving a wide range of specialities and procedure including Ortho, Gynae and Cardio. There is an ITU department providing care and accommodating more complex patients. We have a number of developmental training courses and progression opportunities available for our ambitious employees.

Duties and responsibilities:

  • Assist in the preparation of analytical work by receiving, labelling and entering pathology specimen requests onto the laboratory computer, e nsuring that samples meet sample acceptance requirements
  • Liaise with Consultants & PA’s to deliver lab results and reports as and when is needed
  • Keep and maintain accurate reporting of all samples bought in to the lab
  • Process data as and when is needed
  • Prepare the lab for the receiving and processing of samples
  • Maintain equipment used with in the labs to make sure a high level of housekeeping is adhered too.
  • Be empathic to all patients and keep all patients data safe and secure
