Job description
We are now offering a fantastic opportunity for a hard working medical laboratory assistant to join our friendly and dedicated Specialist Integrated Haematology Malignancy Diagnostic Service (SIHMDS team) at Hammersmith Hospital. The SIHMDS comprises of three sections- Immunophenotyping, Molecular Pathology and Cytogenetics.
Suitable applicants should have awareness of Molecular diagnostics practice and have experience within a busy healthcare setting. The applicant will be trained and will participate in core areas of the laboratory including specimen reception, booking in samples, archiving of specimens, filing of forms and temperature monitoring of all fridges and freezers. Candidates may also be given the opportunity to rotate within the sections.
You will have good written and verbal communication skills, able to multi- task and have the ability to work on your own initiative and as part of a very hard working team. Experience within a busy specimen reception within the NHS is an advantage.

NWLP Induction
The NWLP induction will run on the first Monday of each month (provided it does not fall on a bank holiday) and includes laboratory training (for relevant laboratory roles). All new staff must attend the NWLP induction during their first week with NWLP.
