About the Job:
OB/GYN Medical Assistant Job Description
Symphony Medical, PC is seeking a highly motivated individual who can keep up in a fast-paced environment.
Responsibilities will include:
- Greets patients in the waiting room and escorts them to the exam room.
- Perform preliminary physical tests: take blood pressure, weight and report patient history summary.
- Secure patient information and maintain patient confidence by completing and safeguarding all medical records, and completing diagnostic procedure coding.
- Uses recognized and accurate medical terminology and abbreviations for all medical documentation.
- Collects, labels, and sends specimens with appropriate laboratory slips and/or requisitions.
- Assists physician with in-office procedures limited to set up and breakdown of simple sterile procedures. Draping and prepping patients under the direction of a licensed physician.
- Performs cleaning/decontamination of equipment/materials and instruments.
- Checks inventories, restocks and replaces patient equipment and supplies as needed.
- Perform other duties as required.
Position requirements:
- 2+ years of OB/GYN experience required.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
- Strong organizational and time management skills to complete multiple tasks in a timely manner.
- Ability to function as part of a team and work independently.
