Job Description: Medical Assistant/Esthetician

Responsibilities:
1. Patient Care and Support:
- Assist healthcare professionals in patient examinations, procedures, and treatments.
- Take patient medical histories, and vital signs, and record pertinent information in electronic medical records (EMR) systems.
- Prepare patients for treatments, including explaining procedures, obtaining consent, and ensuring their comfort and safety.
- Provide patient education on skin care routines, treatment plans, and post-treatment care instructions.
2. Aesthetic Treatments:
- Perform a wide range of aesthetic treatments, including facials, chemical peels, microdermabrasion, laser hair removal, and body contouring procedures.
- Assess patients' skin conditions, concerns, and aesthetic goals to develop customized treatment plans.
- Conduct skincare consultations, recommending appropriate products and treatments for optimal results.
- Operate and maintain aesthetic equipment, ensuring proper sterilization and adherence to safety protocols.
3. Cosmetic Injections and Procedures:
- Assist medical professionals during cosmetic procedures such as Botox injections, dermal fillers, and other non-surgical treatments.
- Prepare treatment areas, sterilize instruments, and assist with patient preparation and post-procedure care.
- Maintain accurate documentation of treatments, including product usage, dosage, and patient responses.
4. Administrative Duties:
- Schedule appointments, manage patient records, and handle billing and insurance documentation.
- Ensure compliance with HIPAA regulations and maintain patient confidentiality.
- Coordinate with other team members to ensure smooth workflow and efficient patient care.
- Assist with inventory management, ordering supplies, and maintaining a clean and organized work environment.
5. Continuous Education:
- Stay updated on the latest advances in aesthetic treatments, skincare products, and medical procedures.
- Attend workshops, seminars, and training sessions to enhance skills and knowledge.
- Share knowledge and expertise with colleagues to foster a culture of continuous learning.
Qualifications:
- High school diploma or equivalent; completion of an accredited medical assisting program.
- Valid state license as a Medical Assistant and Esthetician.
- Additional certification or training in medical aesthetics is highly desirable.
- Proven experience as a Medical Assistant, preferably with exposure to dermatology or plastic surgery settings.
- Extensive knowledge of aesthetic treatments, skincare products, and cosmetic procedures.
- Familiarity with medical terminology, patient care protocols, and infection control practices.
- Excellent communication skills and ability to build a strong rapport with patients and colleagues.
- Strong attention to detail, organization, and multitasking abilities.
- Professionalism, empathy, and a commitment to providing exceptional customer service.
- Ability to work collaboratively in a team environment.
