Medical Assistant I
- (3247572)- Reviews provider schedules daily and weekly to plan patient care and formulates solutions for potential problems
- Greets patient in waiting room and escorts to exam room
- Assures efficient patient flow through the office and exam rooms
- Anticipates / sets up special equipment and/or supplies needed for visit
- Assists patient through checkout process when visit is complete
- Cleans and prepares room for next patient
- Tests specimens as necessary
- Performs other tests, procedures, and treatments as needed
- Assists physician or nurse practitioner with patient examination, procedures and treatments as directed
- Performs designated tasks related to tracking test results and may communicate normal test results to patients as directed by a physician, nurse practitioner or nurse
- Enters vitals and test results into LMR/EPIC
- Maintains neat, clean and safe exam rooms and treatment areas
- Assures exam, treatment and clean utility rooms are properly stocked, equipped and secured as applicable
- Requests clinical supplies and practices cost effectiveness measures
- Cleans equipment and exam rooms after patient use per office protocol
- Promotes patient / customer satisfaction by interacting with patients in a professional, friendly manner consistent with their needs
- Communicates appropriately and effectively with patient
- Functions as an integral part of the patient care team
- Accepts delegated responsibilities with a positive manner
- Medical Assistant certification required
- Basic Life Support certification required
- Phlebotomy required
- Nursing Assistant certification or other academic preparation may be considered in lieu of Medical Assistant certification
