Tufts Medicine Lowell General Hospital is seeking an experienced Medical Assistant at Merrimack Valley Cardiology.
Hours: 40 hours weekly, Mon-Fri 8:30am-5:00pm
Summary:
The Medical Assistant has both clinical and clerical responsibilities and will perform either role at any given time to assure uninterrupted patient care. The Medical Assistant performs various clinical/administrative functions in a fast-paced environment. This position requires a high level of organization, multitasking, and superior clinical and customer service skills.
Work up patient in a timely manner, including: obtain vital signs, urinalysis and blood glucose, allergy and medication lists and reconciliation of lists, documenting all information in EMR.
Pre-visit planning
Collect and prepare specimens and relevant documentation for transportation to off-site laboratory, assuring accuracy in labeling and documenting.
Assist with, and set up for any procedures that have been taught through formal training.
Provide backup coverage for the front office as needed
Responsibilities for quality measure tracking
Prepare and replenish medical supplies, maintain an inventory in a cost-effective, patient employee safe manner.
Assist physicians and nurse practitioners in all procedures related to patient examinations.
Provides instructions and education to patients as instructed by providers.
Clean and sterilize instruments and maintain diagnostic equipment.
Anticipate necessary labs, reports and consults the provider may need.
Requirements:
Medical Assistant Certification
High Diploma required
1+ years of Medical Assistant experience
