As a Medication Assistant, you will:
... be primarily responsible for administering or assisting in the administration of medication and treatments in accordance with a resident’s health care provider’s orders. Also, you will be responsible for assisting residents with Activities of Daily Living (ADLs) and Instrumental Activities of Daily Living (iADLs), providing general supervision, and respecting residents' rights and needs of choice.
What you’ll do here:
- Administer or assist in the administration of medication or treatments prescribed by a resident’s health care provider and completes the medication administration record (MAR)
- Coordinate transmittal of physician orders between prescriber and pharmacy and notify community leadership of issues regarding medication administration
- Observe resident responses to treatment and medication and be aware of medication interactions and side effects
- Maintain an accurate count of all medications including controlled substances and assist in the auditing of medication counts
- Ensure the organization and tidiness of the medication supply area and associated equipment
- Document and notify the community leadership team of any changes of resident’s physical conditions and behaviors in accordance with Enlivant policies and procedures
- Assist residents with ADLs and iADLs including but not limited to bathing, toileting, grooming, dressing, transferring, and eating according to each resident’s individual care plan and task sheets
- Follow Enlivant reporting guidelines involving resident abuse, neglect, exploitation, and other incidents
- Perform other duties as assigned
We’d love to talk if:
- You have a High School Diploma (or equivalent) or 1 - 2 years of experience in assisted living or long-term care
- You meet, have, or are eligible to obtain all applicable state requirements and certifications
- You have basic written and oral English communication skills
- You care about serving seniors
Bonus points if:
- You are a Certified Nursing Assistant (or assisted living equivalent)
- You have Medication Administration training/certification per state requirements
- You have 3 - 6 months of related experience and/or training in direct personal care
- You have experience interacting with individuals diagnosed with dementia and Alzheimer’s disease
Pay Range: $16 - $18/ hour, based on experience and certifications.
You are required to complete any necessary health requirements which may change from time-to-time, such as vaccination.
