Job description

Must be available to work Monday through Friday with office hours between 8am-5pm depending on the day.
Must be responsible, motivated, and have reliable transportation to San Leandro. Our Medical Assistants do float from time to time to cover coworkers vacation or illnesses to Danville, Oakland, Castro Valley, Concord, Pleasanton and Walnut Creek.
Duties include:
-Taking medical histories and recording vital signs
-Explaining treatment procedures
-Preparing patients for examinations, assist the physician during the examination and instruct patients about products as directed by a podiatrist
-Making castings of feet, preparing patients, exposing and developing X-Rays for podiatrists
-Authorizing and telephoning medication refills as directed
-Removing sutures and changing dressings
-Arranging examining room instruments and equipment, purchasing and maintaining supplies and equipment
-Keeping waiting room and examining rooms clean
-Operating a computerized patient management system Athena Health
-Scheduling appointments
-Managing office emergencies
-Molding for custom orthotics
-Measuring for diabetic shoes
-Tracking inventory needs

The candidate will be expected to provide front desk duties as well:
-Answering phones and making phone calls
-Prepping charts
-Verifying insurances
-Checking patients in and out
-Communicating with management and attending monthly meetings
-Knowledge of industry policies and standards

Candidate must show a past history of:
