We have an exciting opportunity for an individual looking to advance their career as Digital Media Specialist at Michael Garron Hospital Foundation.
Reporting to the Director, Marketing and Communications, the Digital Media Specialist will be part of our marketing and communications team. They will serve as an expert advisor to foundation colleagues on strategic digital communications and marketing activities to engage the community and amplify our case for support. The successful candidate will lead and contribute to the foundation’s growing digital media portfolio and our content management system.
Bringing demonstrated success with digital best practices, they will help advance the foundation’s online presence. Key to this will be developing and producing impactful donor-centric content that inspires generosity.

Key responsibilities
Contribute to and implement the digital strategy to amplify our case for support and demonstrate the impact of donations, using the foundation’s website, email campaigns and social media channels
Act as the in-house expert on all things digital and advise the foundation on tactics and best practices to develop its digital presence
Leverage digital properties and activate new strategies to engage existing and potential donors
Collaborate with internal stakeholders across all foundation teams to develop a content calendar for digital and social properties as well as on-site activations, such as the donor wall
Create and publish written and visual content to support marketing initiatives
Support creation, scheduling and implementation of paid digital ads and optimization efforts
Manage the foundation’s website and social media channels, in accordance with brand guidelines and accessibility standards
Customize sub-branded micro-sites and donation pages to drive engagement in support of events and other fundraising
Advise on and implement digital best practices for search engine optimization and search engine marketing
Produce and deploy segmented emails relating to fundraising campaigns and events, adhering with industry requirements such as Canada’s Anti-Spam Legislation and AODA standards
Track, analyze and report on key performance indicators, including website, social media and campaign analytics and conversions, using results to develop recommendations and inform program development and planning
Manage Drupal upgrade and serve as a key contact for developers
Work with external vendors to ensure on-time delivery to stated specifications
Education
College diploma or university degree in digital communications, marketing communications, journalism or equivalent combination of education and experience.
Experience/Qualifications
Three or more years of relevant experience in digital marketing, brand activation or fundraising
Proven success working with digital media, with a strong understanding of website technology, social media and user experience
Demonstrated ability to distil messaging to capture interest online
Knowledge of business development, content marketing, digital promotions and communications (I.e., Google AdWords, social media marketing, email marketing, SEO and SEM)
Current understanding of paid digital media landscape and experience creating, analyzing, reporting on and optimizing paid advertising campaigns on various platforms
Proficiency in data analytics with the ability to implement effective reporting on metrics that highlight trends, measure content performance and inform content development
Proficient in content management systems, such as Drupal
Working knowledge of HTML and CSS
Proficiency working with standard Office software in a Windows environment (I.e., Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook, etc.)
Strong working knowledge of Canva
Experience using Adobe Creative Suite and working with brand guidelines
Familiarity with photography and basic video editing
Graphic design experience is an asset
Knowledge of Blackbaud Online Express and Constant Contact email platforms is an asset
A highly motivated individual who is comfortable taking initiative and accustomed to delivering high-quality content and materials in a high-pressure, deadline-driven workplace
Excellent organizational, project management, communications (verbal/written), interpersonal and creative problem-solving skills
Exceptional judgement that can be relied upon for sound strategic guidance, advice and counsel
Strong attention to detail and proofreading skills to ensure clean and engaging content
Previous experience in fundraising or a not-for-profit environment preferred
Good performance and attendance record required

Compensation
Our target salary range is $65,000 to 78,000 annually.
