- As Media Relations Manager, you’ll be responsible for promoting and protecting the reputation of our bank as part of NatWest Group’s Regional Communications Team

- This position is available for a period of 12 months
What you'll do
In this key role, you’ll work closely with stakeholders and colleagues to create, deliver and execute innovative and well-rounded media and communications activity for a range of topics across the bank. And by developing an excellent network of journalist contacts outside of the traditional finance media landscape, you’ll help to ensure that our strategy is communicated in a creative way.
Day to day, you’ll be:
- Preparing and managing communication strategies and activities that are suitable for multi-channel platforms
- Producing high quality content to support plans, including video, graphics, audio and written material
- Working closely with your team to track and maintain a report of the bank’s coverage
- Making sure that communication activities have both long and short-term goals in mind, supporting our strategy of building a stronger, simpler and fairer bank
The skills you'll need
To join us in this role, you’ll need experience of dealing with the media and gaining positive coverage through a range of means, such as press releases, social media, managing events, research and more innovative content platforms like film and podcast. You’ll have a strong grasp of political and economic issues and demonstrate first class news sense and judgement. Experience of working in a busy media office or agency and a great regional journalist contacts book would be an advantage as would experience in internal communications or marketing.
You’ll also need:
- To be a confident communicator, acting with discretion and sensitivity when required
- The ability to influence at a senior level
- Excellent interpersonal and team-working skills
- Strong organisational skills, with the ability to prioritise effectively and work under pressure to meet deadlines
- The ability to work using your own initiative and as part of a wider team
