Job description
The Cliffs at Valhalla, a beloved climbing gym in Westchester, is seeking a stoked and creative individual to join our in-facility team as a Social Media Coordinator. This role is ideal for someone who is passionate about climbing, experienced in managing social media platforms, and excited about building a strong online community for our facility. As the Social Media Coordinator, you will play a crucial role in fostering engagement, sharing captivating content, and promoting our climbing gym to existing and potential members. Expected 4-8 hours per week with monthly meetings with the department required. This position can be paired with other roles for more hours and opportunities.
Primary Responsibilities:
- Create a digital sense of community within our climbing facility.
- Work closely with General Managers, Marketing Manager, department heads, and facility staff to keep members and guests updated on facility-level updates, events, and offerings.
- Create and share engaging content on social media platforms (Instagram, Facebook, TikTok) with a focus on building facility awareness and community growth.
- Oversee community management on Instagram and Facebook, responding to comments and direct messages.
- Attend and help organize community events such as clinics, instruction updates, retail features, setting schedules, weekly boulder, and more.
- Film (or at least be able to post) the weekly setter's picks for social posts.
- Collaborate with department heads to post content and create a schedule of posts.
- When appropriate, reach out to local influencers to engage and invite them to Cliffs events.
- A creative thinker with a deep understanding of climbing and the climbing community.
- Passionate about engaging with our members and guests.
- Bonus: a background or passion in photography.
