Role Responsibility
Selfridges are looking for a Social Media Coordinator – Fashion to join their vibrant Social Media Team working on their gen-z hype Instagram account @TheYellowDrop while also supporting menswear and fashion overall. This person will live and breathe content, with a strong understanding of platform nuances, especially TikTok and strong understanding of Gen-Z as a demographic. They will have a strong creative, yet strategic eye and will be bursting with ideas, on the pulse with trends and strong knowledge of brands at Selfridges.
What is the role?
Manage @TheYellowDrop Instagram account and content for Menswear, as well as supporting the Social Media Manager – Fashion on the category generally. Being the key contact for @TheYellowDrop and MW.
Working with the Social Media Lead to roll out the strategy for The Yellow Drop.
Developing and owning cross channel content plans aligned with the Master Calendar, seeing through to execution to support brand launches and key moments,
Conceptualise, pitch and execute content cross functionally while ensuring a social first approach to all activations. Including the briefing of content to internal and external stakeholders.
Managing and maintaing relationships with our buyers.
Stay ahead of the curve with landscape changes to social platforms, the latest trends and what’s happening culturally, being reactive to create engaging content.
Support the regional stores, Birmingham, Trafford and Manchester to ensure localisation of key messaging.
Develop weekly and monthly reports, using insights to inform and evolve strategy.
Update the Annual Social Media Calendar to ensure alignment with all channels.
A flair for copywriting for social media captions and other content
Community management on @TheYellowDrop ensuring we respond to customers in a timely manner.
Obtain final sign off on copy and imagery ensuring consistent brand messaging across the business
The Ideal Candidate
Experience within the fashion industry, including social media and experience creating content for brands
Highly creative with a passion for content creation, with the ability to shoot and edit social first native content
A strong understanding of the nuances of each social media platform
Confident with writing social media copy
Capable working in a fast paced environment and with deadlines
Confident with a positive and solution-orientated outlook
Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills
Extremely organised, being able to multitask and work pro-actively using initiative
Collaborative, open and transparent – able to navigate the organisation and to be comfortable with ambiguity.
Strong knowledge of menswear brands at Selfridges
Skilled in Adobe software including Photoshop and Premier Pro video editing or similar software
Work collaboratively with like minded peers, taking on constructive feedback where necessary
