The Directorate of Media and Communications (DMC) is the Metropolitan Police Service in-house communication function and is arguably one of the busiest and most exciting communication teams in London.

The department operates around the clock to deliver impactful communications that help to keep people safe, keep over 44,000 police officers and staff informed; and deliver the Met’s vision to make London the safest global city.

We are looking for brilliant Media and Communication Assistants to join our news, internal, digital and campaigns teams to help deliver the Met’s most important work to-date. From communications that help to rebuild the public’s trust and confidence, to reducing all types of violent crime, increasing professional standards across our workforce and attracting the right people to join us as police constables.

The Met and its people have an abundance of fascinating stories to tell and incredible content to showcase through our established internal, external and digital channels; as well as paid for advertising campaigns and our work with media organisations.

This is a fantastic opportunity to join our award-winning team and help to tell those stories. In return, you will receive a generous package of benefits and have access to ongoing professional development. You will also join the Government Communication Service [GCS] and the Public Relations and Communicators Association [PRCA].
