Job Role: Media and Communications Officer

Location: Hybrid - Birmingham (Can also be based in London or Leicester)

Salary: £30,000 - £35,000 (DoE)

Main Purpose of Role:

In this brand-new role, you will be responsible for managing our internal & external corporate communications, advising on publicity activities and serving as the company’s point of contact with the media.


You will need to have experience of creating and planning communication campaigns, and planning and writing content such as press releases, newsletters, website copy and online/offline publications.


Working closely with our Marketing teams across our portfolio you will be the custodian of our brand ensuring the plc and business unit content is aligned.


Working with our Talent & Engagement and wider People team, you will develop internal communication plans that motivate and engage our colleagues.

Skills and Experience Required:

We know it’s not a skill, but the successful candidate must have permission to work in the role’s location by the start of their employment.


You will also need:

  • A consistent record of producing compelling content across a range of contexts and audiences such as in the media, corporate communications or journalism, but we're happy to consider different fields too
  • A record of using content management systems, social media, web analytics and digital marketing tools
  • Advanced digital skills including the ability to use creative software that's relevant to this kind of role
  • Substantial experience of managing diverse and multiple stakeholders, with different needs and expectations
  • To be planning focused with attention to detail.
  • To be able to write engaging content, and be creative.
  • You have empathy for others, tailoring your content to their needs, and you are collaborative in your approach.
