Overview:
The Mechanical Technician Pipe Preparation is responsible for applying mechanical skills in pipe preparation. An integral part of this role is also to have a meticulous attention to detail and work to our high standard of quality, ensuring that any issues are reported.
Working within our manufacturing site at Bar Hill; Cambridge, candidates MUST have experience in reading and understanding an array of technical and engineering drawings
This role will be on a 2-week shift pattern of week 1 - Monday - Friday 05.45 - 13.45 and week 2 Monday - Wednesday 14.00 – 00.00, Thursday 14.00 – 23.30 with day off Friday where a 15.5% shift allowance will apply.
Main Duties and Responsibilities:
- To comprehensively read and interpret technical/engineering drawings.
- Cut and prepare tube to 0.5mm tolerance.
- To follow manufacturing/quality procedures and standards.
- Hand bend tube ranging from 1/8” diameter to ½” diameter.
- Operate CNC Tube Bender
- Be willing to undertake work onsite.
- Mentor and assist new starters.
- Liaise and update Production Manager / Supervisor on status of goods
- To keep areas clean, tidy and adhere to Company health and safety procedures
Person Specification:
- Previous experience in a similar role (graduates will also be considered) where engineering / technical drawings have been used
- Ability to demonstrate attention to detail, a high level of dexterity and capable of work to precision tolerances.
- Competency in the use of hand tools and measuring equipment
- Able to follow clear and precise procedures/instructions.
- Practical training will be given therefore candidates must be willing to learn, develop and be open to new working practices.
- Good communication and team skills are essential.
- Good timekeeping.
- Flexibility to work overtime when required
