Apprenticeship summary
As an apprentice mechanical engineer, you will work towards becoming a skilled CNC machinist. During your apprenticeship you will be involved in highly skilled, complex, and precision work. To help you develop your overall skill set, you will experience all our machining areas and will spend time in our assembly and inspection departments.
You will learn to machine components from specialist materials using conventional and CNC machine tools such as lathes, vertical and horizontal milling machines, and multi-axis CNC machining centres.
This is a ‘4 year’ apprenticeship where you will be expected to complete your HNC in Engineering.

Requirements and prospects
Desired qualificationsEntry requirements: A minimum of 4 GCSE’s at Grade 5 with a preference of Grade 6 in Maths, English and Science
Future prospects
Qualifications on completion: Level 3 Diploma and a HNC.
