Job Title
Mechanical Fitter
Objectives
To train in all aspects of the Maintenance Department and to follow standard operating policies. To maintain high levels of quality, safety, and environmental awareness within the department. To give full support to the Mechanical Supervisor and assist where required on plant.
Your Tasks
- Able to work independently with limited support, working to set processes on routine engineering tasks. (e.g. maintenance, recurring repairs, inspections).
- Understand and able to apply principles of plant and safety engineering.
- To operate as a member of a team in the Maintenance Department helping to achieve optimum plant utilisation and efficiency. To contribute an acceptable level of housekeeping in the department.
- To undertake a comprehensive training programme to be able to run every aspect of the Maintenance Department. To attend any further training courses as required.
- To complete mechanical SAP reports detailing daily tasks performed and shift reports at the end of every shift.
- To ensure that the operation and related tasks are conducted in a safe working manner and that any incidents/ accidents and hazards are duly reported.
- To ensure all safety precautions as detailed in the Health and Safety procedures are taken and that safety equipment is in good order and used at all times.
- To liaise with the Mechanical Supervisor as to the condition of the mechanical/electrical equipment or production problems.
Our Requirements
- Reasonable standard of secondary education.
- SVQ Level 3 Mechanical Engineering or equivalent.
- One day Health and Safety course.
- Basic standard of IT skills and competent use of Microsoft Products (Word, Excel, Outlook).
- Fork Lift Truck Licence preferred but not essential, training will be provided.

Salary: £32,340.00-£42,446.00 per year
