Tidyco’s Rail Division helps support the UK Rail Industry combining new build and maintenance for both Passenger and Freight vehicles. We work closely with Train builders, Operators and Owners supplying port to port solutions for all on-board train system’s including hydrostatic, coolant, fuel, water and air. Our services range from a vehicle inspection to the overhaul of complete piece of equipment to single part re-engineering, offering the customer full piece of mind that our design will increase the length of time between service intervals and in the long te rm save them money
The Role
We are currently recruiting for a Rail HVAC engineer/technician to join us on a permanent basis in our busy engineering overhaul division. We are looking for a self-motivated person who is able to plan their day using the reports on our internal database and complete work in an organised and timely fashion. A lot of the work we do is rail related so experience of working in the industry would be advantageous.
This is a full time, permanent position, working Monday – Thursday, 8.00am – 5.00pm, Friday 8.00am – 2.30pm.
Responsibilities:
· Carry out routine maintenance and diagnostic fault finding on Rail HVAC units.
· Assist with the strip down and repair of HVAC and other Rail related products when required.
· Stripping and rewiring of electrical components as well as electrical testing.
· Operate a range of HVAC test/electrical equipment.
· Ensure all Health and Safety procedures and adhered to at all times.
· Using in house reporting ensure all work is quoted and completed on time.
· Ensure your workspace in clean and organised at all times.
Skills:
· Experience of working within a similar role / industry.
· Effective and professional communication skills - verbal and written.
· Detailed oriented and ability to multitask.
· Logical troubleshooting skills.
· Able to work individually or as part of a team.
· Full, clean driving licence desirable.
· Rail HVAC chiller units and compressors experience would be an advantage.
· F GAS qualified as well would be desirable.
· Electrical knowledge, fault finding and exchanging electrical components.

Due to the nature of the job all relevant PPE and overalls will be supplied. Working off site may occasionally be required. An understanding of hydraulics and pneumatics would be advantageous.
The Person:
- Knowledge within the Rail Industry together with Hydraulic and Pneumatic System / technical support would be an advantage however not essential.
· Willingness to learn and undertake relevant training.
· Previous experience within a Mechanical / Electrical Fitter position.
· Good IT skills.
· Good interpersonal skills.
· Be able to work well individually and as part of a team.
· Be commercially aware.

Salary: £35,000.00-£40,000.00 per year
