Job Description

Position Summary

Rockwell Automation’s Safety, Sensing and Industrial Component Business (SIC) is seeking an experienced Mechanical Brand Label Engineer to be a member of a product development team responsible for the evaluation, qualification, and release of brand labeled and factored products. This role is a cross between Supplier Quality Engineering, Test Engineering, and Business Development functions.

As the Brand Label Engineer, you bring strong business acumen and a global mindset with deeper cultural understanding to the team while working hand in hand with Product Marketing team members. You will act as the technical point person within the SIC business for the branded product line.

You bring proven ability to manage projects to established development process, prepare engineering documentation, test products to qualify performance, and collaborate technically with multi-national partners while working in a heavily matrixed cross functional global team environment.

Basic Qualifications

• Bachelor of Science Degree in Mechanical Engineering
• Up to 10% travel domestic and international
• Legal Authorization to work in the US is required. We will not sponsor individuals for employment visas, now or in the future, for this job opening.

Preferred Qualifications

• Typically requires a minimum of 2 years of demonstrated experience using engineering test equipment to analyze and troubleshoot products/components
• Typically requires a minimum of 2 years of demonstrated experience working with printed circuit board-based products/components/assemblies for new product development
• Desire to develop new products by collaborating with strategic partners and qualifying their designs to meet Rockwell Automation functional requirements
• Technical knowledge and experience with electro-mechanical system design and complex assemblies
• Experience with shock & vibration testing, and ingress testing
• Proven ability to manage multiple project activities while keeping projects on schedule
• Demonstrated experience working as a team member in a global work environment, applying the appropriate amount of delegation and individual contribution
• Experience creating Engineering drawings and documentation for a co-branded product
• Ability to make appropriate and effective use of oral and written English to communicate, cooperate and negotiate with diverse individuals and groups
• Familiarity with Rockwell Automation products and/or other industrial control panel solutions and applications
• Familiarity with SAP for product data management
• Knowledge of domestic and international standards, especially UL and IEC standards for industrial control products
• Previous mechanical product design experience
