Job title: Mechanical Engineer (Building Services Engineer) Location: Benbecula, Hebrides, GB Company: QinetiQAbout the role
We are looking for a Mechanical Building Services Engineer to join our FM Maintenance Team Provide maintenance support (including installations; planned, preventive & corrective maintenance) in relation to site services, plant / equipment & buildings.
You will be work across the site which has a multitude of different types of buildings of which you will be providing technical maintenance support. You will find yourself covering a variety mechanical maintenance tasks which can involve PPM, repair and reactive maintenance.
You will be working on our industrial base in Benbecula on the Hebrides in Scotland and will have the opportunity to learn new skills and develop into and array of different areas across QinetiQ.
What do I need?
Experience in some of the following areas would be desirable, but not essential.
Mechanical-bias. Experience providing maintenance support (including; planned, preventive & corrective maintenance and building inspections)
Engineering / Technical qualification: Apprenticeship or NVQ Level 3 (in a relevant discipline, Mechanical, HVac – desirable
Good knowledge and level of competency in other areas of building services (BMS, mechanical services)
Competent Microsoft Office Suite User
Full clean driving license
Have knowledge of working within the MOD safe systems of work structure as determined by JSP 375.
Have an understanding of the roles and responsibilities of Authorising Engineers and Authorised Persons

What will I be doing?
Using your mechanical maintenance experience you will be working on a range of different projects across the site including the following.
Provide maintenance support (including installations; planned, preventive & corrective maintenance) in relation to range site operations, plant / equipment & buildings and in accordance with the adopted standards and mandatory KPIs
Responsible for maintaining competency and developing personal capability so that evolving business demands are met.
Ensure robust application of health, safety & environmental procedures & processes
Maintaining baseline configuration records
Timely and accurate completion of maintenance documentation
Supporting site enabling output and trials delivery equipment maintenance teams
Installation of equipment and infrastructure to strict standards in accordance with current policy
Configuration, monitoring and usage of systems in support of operational activities
Oversee the conduct of assigned contractors on site, monitoring the implementation & performance of tasks allocated.
