Assembly Repair Maintenance & Overhaul (ARMO) Apprenticeship Program
This is a Modern Apprenticeship 4 year programme located at our Barclayhill Place, Portlethen, Aberdeenshire AB12 4PF facility.
About this role
Baker Hughes Oilfield Services and Equipment has current vacancies to recruit engineering apprentices for their ARMO Drilling Services division. These positions will be predominantly based at our ARMO Maintenance Facility at Barclayhill Place Portlethen, Aberdeenshire.
Overview of the Apprenticeship
Apprentices will spend their First Year offsite, at Tullos Training Centre to gain a basic appreciation of all engineering disciplines. Followed by specialization into a chosen discipline (e.g. Electronics, Mechanical) to gain SVQ2 in Engineering Manufacture & NC in Engineering. Apprentices will also be required to work onsite from time to time during this period including if required weekend working.
In years 2 & 3 apprentices will be placed onsite at our Barclayhill Place facility but will also attend college on a day release basis to complete an HNC in Electronic or Mechanical Engineering, year 4 will be based at the Barclayhill Place facility.
Apprentices will work under the supervision of qualified / competent Drilling Services ARMO Technicians, learning through observation, mentoring, questioning & physical hands on tools work.
The apprentices will also maintain a logbook of completed work, which must pass assessment against National Standards by an External Assessor forming part of the Modern Apprenticeship program award.
What we need from you -
- A minimum of 4 standard grades at 1-3 (or equivalent qualifications), to include Math's, English, Physics & a Technical Subject, are required.
- We will also consider applicants who do not have the Physics or Technical Subject but who do have Mathematics at Standard Grade 1 or Higher Grade C or above & English at Standard Grade 3 or above & two other Standard Grade subjects at level 3 or above.

- This apprenticeship will be Mon - Fri and generally the hours of 7.30 am to 3.30 pm.
