Mechanic
We have a fantastic opportunity for a Part-Time Mechanic to work in our dynamic team at The Belfry, England's leading Hotel and Resort. We have 320 bedrooms, 2 Rosette standard dining, five food and beverage outlets, fantastic leisure facilities including our 20 treatment rooms & pool and of course, what we are famous for...golf. We have a really exciting year ahead at The Belfry, starting with hosting The British Masters in June 2023, and continuing with the launch of new training and development opportunities and incentives.
The Belfry is synonymous with golf and has hosted the Ryder Cup four times - more than any other venue in the world. Our world class golf courses have produced some of the most dramatic moments in the history of the sport. They attract players from the UK and beyond looking to relive the Ryder Cup magic, improve their game, and to make use of the unrivalled state-of-the-art golfing facilities.
Salary
The on-target earning potential for this role is 10.61- 10.85 per hours compromising of a base hourly rate of 10.18 - 10.42 plus a qualified estimate of 0.43 gratuities per hour
About the role
This role is for 30 hours per week.
As a Mechanic, your role would be to undertake general maintenance of our machinery fleet on a daily basis, working under the management of the Head Mechanic. Although we do try to give all our employees a good work-life balance you may be required to work some evenings and weekends in this role. Duties include:
Assisting in the diagnostics and repairs of failing equipment
Communicating with the Head Mechanic of any repairs, stock requests and general servicing
Undertaking welding and fabrication as and when required
Repairing two-stroke and four-stroke engines
Repairing and replacing tyres and other parts
About You
Our Greenkeeping team is a group of friendly and hardworking individuals with a passion for what they do and an ability to work individually and as a team. We are looking for someone who will fit in with the culture. Basic training or experience is required for this role. We would also prefer:
an interest in mechanics
an interest in golf
previous greenkeeper experience
