Role and Responsibilities:

Under the supervision of the Maintenance Manager, the Mechanic Helper is responsible for the maintenance, repairs, and upkeep of the facility. He is also responsible for helping to improve the reliability and efficiency of the maintenance department. All this, while respecting rules and regulations for health and safety, food safety and quality, and maintaining a good working environment.

Main Tasks:

• Perform regular building maintenance such as but not limited to, painting, caulking, plumbing, construction, sign installation, facility repairs and cleaning.
• Support the maintenance crew and the production teams when facing and troubleshooting issues.
• Use proper tools and equipment to do the required tasks.
• Perform preventive maintenance on a regular or periodic schedule as required.
• Monitor and record various pieces of equipment.
• Document all anomalies in written reports and inform the supervisor.
• Able to work on multiple projects.
• Perform other related duties.

Required Skills and Competencies:

• Minimum experience of one to three years in a similar position in a manufacturing environment.
• Experience and training in construction and/or facility maintenance.
• Pays great attention to details.
• Has a sense of responsibility, self-reliance, and resourcefulness.
• Possesses and demonstrates excellent technical skills.
• Is versatile, flexible, and reliable.
• Has an open mind and can adapt quickly to changes.
• Possesses and demonstrates mechanical and electrical skills.
• Bilingual: French and English, spoken and written.

Status: Full Time

Work Schedule: evenings with weekends rotation.*

• Schedule can change to accommodate operational needs.
