Required for September 2023, teacher of Mathmatics to teach across the age and ability range at KS3 and 4.
The successful applicant will be an enthusiastic and talented teacher who has high expectations of themselves and of our students. They will have good subject knowledge and be skilful at communicating with young people. They will be able to quickly establish good relationships with their pupils through positive behaviour management. They will enjoy working as part of an innovative and supportive team.
The teacher will:
· Fulfil the professional responsibilities of a teacher, as set out in the handbook for faculty and staff and code of conduct.
· Meet the expectations set out in the Teachers’ Standards
· Assist in the smooth running of the school at all times.
· The successful candidate may be required to take on the role of form tutor.
Your responsibilities
· As a teacher you will be responsible for the learning and achievement of all pupils in your class/es ensuring equality of opportunity for all.
· Be responsible and accountable for achieving the highest possible standards in work and conduct.
· Treat pupils with dignity, building relationships rooted in mutual respect, and at all times observing proper boundaries appropriate to a teacher’s professional position.
· Work proactively and effectively in collaboration and partnership with learners, parents/carers, governance, other staff, and external agencies in the best interests of pupils.
· Act within, the statuary frameworks, which set out their professional duties and responsibilities in accordance with the contract of employment.
· Take responsibility for promoting and safeguarding the welfare of children and young people within the school.
Core Duties:
In accordance with the contract of employment, the teacher will develop and foster the appropriate skills and strategies to enable the optimum academic and social development of pupils according to age, ability and aptitude and will:
· Provide instruction in varying group sizes as prescribed by the school.
· Teach an additional subject or subjects as directed by the Head of School.
· Provide sympathetic support to encourage self-reliance, responsible behaviour and self-esteem.
· Undertake other duties as the Head of School may reasonably direct.
Teaching
· Plan and teach well-structured lessons to assigned classes.
· Plan and prepare schemes of work and lessons incorporating National Curriculum requirements adapted to the needs, abilities, and interests of the pupils in your class.
· Assess, monitor, record and report on the learning needs, progress, and achievements of assigned pupils, making accurate and productive use of assessment.
· Adapt teaching to respond to the strengths and needs of pupils.
· Set high expectations that inspire, motivate and challenge pupils.
· Promote good progress and outcomes by pupils.
· Demonstrate good subject and curriculum knowledge.
· Participate in arrangements for preparing pupils for external tests.
· Demonstrate highest professional and personal standards, and classroom management.
· To monitor and support the overall progress and development of pupils.
· To facilitate and encourage a learning experience which provides pupils with the opportunity to achieve their individual potential.
· To contribute to maximizing of pupil attainment.
· To share and support the school’s responsibility to provide and monitor opportunities for personal and academic growth.
You will need:
Ø Degree
Ø Qualified Teacher Status preferable
Ø Successful experience of subject leadership
Ø Teaching experience
Ø Special needs experience and/or training

Centre Academy East Anglia is a small SEN school convenient to Bury St Edmunds, Stowmarket, Woolpit, Lavenham. Some experience with SEN would be an additional benefit.
