Duties
- Responsible for organizing and coordinating an effective receiving operation.

- Independently performs a complete range of receiving assignments.
- Verifies quantities received from purchase orders and invoices and takes appropriate action.
- Processes material received without documentation by obtaining and inputting information into automated system.
- Groups items together based on receiving voucher information and segregates items according to such factors as product type and storage location.
- Unloads incoming shipments and verifies receipt information into automated systems.
- Builds pallet loads to facilitate storage and transports materials to appropriate storage areas.
- Responsible for organizing and coordinating an effective storage operation.
- Responsible for organizing and coordinating an effective storage operation, maximizing space utilization for product spacing and locations.
- Independently performs a complete range of storage, re-warehousing, and consolidation assignments, such as placing, arranging, rotating, marking, and tagging of items on pallets in bin, bulk or other storage locations.
- Provides for the care of supplies in storage applying food vulnerability and food safety techniques and rules to protect from tampering, damage, and/or deterioration.
- Performs comprehensive quality reviews of the full spectrum of warehousing functions.
- Uses manual and/or automated system to select storage locations of items being distributed, received or to inquire on status of items.
- Completes inventory of items which may include the use of formal, informal, item-by-item, or group inventory methods and using manual or automated inventory systems.
- Segregates and moves materials to holding area, dock, or appropriate storage area, and verifies item identification on request forms.
- Obtains required signature on appropriate paperwork before distributing/issuing items.
- Maintains and determines stock levels needs for sports food products based on usage, inventory, season demands, and changing customer needs.
- Reports updated inventory levels to Director of Sports Nutrition to ensure sufficient supplies are regularly ordered from commercial vendors to meet mission requirements.
- Serves as the primary staff member for issuing and distributing sports food products to teams during designated pick-up times.
- Selects and assembles items based on priority, type of product, destination and type of distribution.
- May serve as Primary or Alternate Falcon Fuel stocking manager, based upon mission requirements.
- Segregates and moves materials to holding area, dock, or appropriate storage area, and verifies item identification on request forms.
- Obtains required signature on appropriate paperwork before distributing/issuing items.
- Uses Government purchase card to purchase all necessary items in support of the Athletic Department.
- Under the supervision of the Director of Sports Nutrition, assists with creating calls against Blanket Purchasing Agreements (BPAs) and purchases under established contracts for Athletic Department Training Table meals, Falcon Fuel and the Extras Program.
- Operates electric pallet jacks and mobile stock chasers to move, load and unload, products in confined spaces; and handle controls for starting, stopping, backing, lifting, lowering, tilting, and driving equipment through narrow aisles, up and down ramps, and in and out of trucks.

Qualifications

In order to qualify, you must meet the experience requirements described below. Experience refers to paid and unpaid experience, including volunteer work done through National Service programs (e.g., Peace Corps, AmeriCorps) and other organizations (e.g., professional; philanthropic; religious; spiritual; community; student; social). You will receive credit for all qualifying experience, including volunteer experience. Your resume must clearly describe your relevant experience; if the position allows for qualifying based on education, your transcripts will be required as part of your application.
Qualifying Experience:
- Must be able to obtain and be a primary Government Purchase Card holder.
- Knowledge of accepted warehousing methods, procedures, and material handling techniques; warehousing functions, such as material receiving storage, issuing, and preservation; and of warehouse configurations, storage requirements for specific food products, and storage documentation requirements.
- Knowledge of inventory procedures; regulations, procedures, and policies related to records maintenance and documentation; and of safety regulations, practices, and procedures.
- Skilled in the use of automated material processing equipment and systems.
- Ability to interpret and apply instructions pertaining to material handling; and to maintain tools, equipment, and work area in a neat clean, and orderly manner.
- Ability to prepare inventory and production reports and to screen shipping and receiving documents for discrepancies.
- Ability to safely operate electric pallet jacks and mobile stock chasers to move, load and unload, products in confined spaces; and handle controls for starting, stopping, backing, lifting, lowering, tilting, and driving equipment through narrow aisles, up and down ramps, and in and out of trucks.
- Must have knowledge of basic information and terminology that must be present in procurement documents, such as signatures, accounting codes, item descriptions, quantities, and prices, to identify missing information.
- Must have knowledge of simple arithmetic to verify calculations by adding and multiplying figures in procurement documents.
- Knowledge of frequently used and easily understood regulations, such as those related to required sources, the use of mandatory schedules, or ordering and documentation procedures for routine purchases, to ensure regulatory compliance throughout the purchasing process.
- Knowledge of automated or manual small purchase systems sufficient to locate, add, and retrieve information.
- Must be able to lift and carry 40 pounds.
- Position may require occasional work outside of normal duty hours to include nights, weekends and holidays.
Education
Some federal jobs allow you to substitute your education for the required experience in order to qualify. This position does not allow for education substitution.
FOREIGN EDUCATION: Education completed in foreign colleges or universities may be used to meet the requirements. You must show proof the education credentials have been deemed to be at least equivalent to that gained in conventional U.S. education program.
