Job description
As part of the Matchday team you will work in our busy lounges on home matchdays welcoming guests to St James Park and coordinating service. You will escort and direct our guests to their tables, ensure service is delivered correctly and maintain smooth operation of the serving team, dealing with any dietary requests and food orders, whilst maintaining a high level of customer experience. Working in conjunction with the other hosts and the Commercial team to ensure a best-in-class service. Informing guests of any updates and communication as instructed by the management team.

The key responsibilities of this role are:
· Coordinate the serving team to ensure all guests are served in a timely manner their orders as requested.
· Ensure you have the appropriate guest list(s) and any other relevant information ready and available to welcome guests to St James Park.
· Ensure guests are directed or escorted in line with their booking/requirements.
· Have a full understanding of the menu offered to be able to provide guidance/answers to any questions asked.
· Support the Bar Team and External Food Provider as required in ensuring serving beverages and food is carried out promptly.
· Ensure positive interaction with all customers ensuring orders and information taken is correct and customer needs and preferences are assessed and met.
· Maintain a fast-paced environment but ensure time and care is taken in building professional relationships with colleagues and customers.
· Maintain a clean, neat and tidy working environment throughout every shift.
· Be responsive to colleague and customer requests and queries.
· Try and resolve any customer complaints using the training you have been provided and ensure issues are logged and feedback to the Commercial Manager.
· Attend staff training as required.
· Take pride in your presentation and be a positive ambassador of the Club for all events.
· Ensure you are familiar with emergency and evacuation procedures.
· Ensure all security incidents, accidents and near misses are always logged in a timely manner and brought to the attention of your supervisor or where appropriate a steward.
· Obtain a working knowledge of the Health and Safety at Work Act 1974 specifically relating to your area of duty, also to general aspects of the Company.
· Comply with company grooming and uniform standards.
· Comply with timekeeping and attendance policies.
· At all times, comply with the company policy and code of conduct.
