- Grow and lead the Master Data team to deliver leading-edge data and AI solutions across a diverse range of internal projects.
- Engineering best-in class data ingestion pipelines
- Building modern Enterprise Data Warehouses on BigQuery using BigQuery and dbt
- Champion Data requirements for new projects and initiatives to ensure future integration
- Leveraging the latest machine learning and AI offerings from Google Cloud
- Enabling the production of engaging data visualisations in Looker and other platforms e.g. Tableau or Power BI
- Analysis and Modern Data Warehousing
- Lead and facilitating workshops with subject matter experts to capture business data objectives and requirements
- Facilitate the development of future-state data models, business requirements and key performance metrics
- Manage, improve and control our data assets to ensure we can drive change the right way
- Support process definition with data models that serve the needs of change and the business customer
- Building best-in-class data ingestion pipelines into Google BigQuery using Fivetran, Fivetran Custom Connectors and Cloud Dataflow
- Building advanced transformation and ML pipelines in BigQuery using dbt
- Minimum 4 years in a Data or AI role (Desirable)
- A degree or equivalent qualification in computer science (Engineering / Automation / Com Sci)
- Knowledge of data modelling and experience analysing large datasets to discover relationships, trends and insights (Essential)
- Hands-on with relational databases and/or Cloud data warehouses e.g. BigQuery (preferred), Snowflake, Azure, AWS, MSSQL (Desirable)
- Strong SQL skills / Training ML models / Data Science (Desirable)
- Building advanced data visualisations in Looker, Tableau or similar (Desirable)
- Knowledge of relevant IT frameworks (Desirable)
- Experience of FMCG and retail (Desirable)
- A person who can efficiently navigate complex business logic to translate a clear data requirement onto paper, and use this information to recommend and challenge current thinking
- Highly motivated self-starter, comfortable working on both independent and team projects and strive to get the job done
- Excellent attention to detail and applied problem solving skills
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills to leverage the knowledge and context from individuals and can articulate complex concepts to a varied audience
