Job description
MASH Screening Officer
The Redbridge MASH is looking for a new rising star!!
Redbridge is an ambitious, diverse and exciting east-London borough. What we do is driven by changing our relationship with local people to support our vision. As a result, we've developed innovative ways to build our communities and transform our Council.
We're one of the fastest growing parts of the country and the third most diverse London borough. Our communities are attracted by a mixture of excellent schools, relatively affordable housing, high-quality open space and rapid transport connections into the heart of the City.
Are you looking for a new challenge? Do you have what it takes to work in a vibrant and busy team in Redbridge Children's Services? Are you able to work with in an innovative and supportive service that puts the child's wellbeing at the forefront of all decision making and planning?
If you answered yes to any of the above questions, then we want to hear from you!
MASH: The Redbridge Multi Agency Safeguarding Hub (MASH) has been operational since 2014. It was judged as outstanding in the 2016 Ofsted inspection and described as a “model of excellence” in the 2019 Ofsted inspection. The MASH service has worked hard to embed a reflective and learning culture in what is a busy and fast paced environment.
The referrals feature traumatic child and domestic abuse so candidates must be resilient to reading this material daily. The MASH operates a high level of performance with rigorous management oversight and support. The Screening officer role is the first point of call in the MASH taking calls from the public and professionals and offering advice and guidance. The role entails loading referrals from the police, schools and health and feeding back to agencies the outcome of those referrals. Screening Officers also undertake tasks such as CAFCASS checks and letters to service users. This is an exciting opportunity to be part of a thriving and highly supportive working environment. We have a wealth of training opportunities to develop your professional pathway and you will receive monthly supervision and a performance management review.
The role is office based as the MASH is required to be co-located with partner agencies.
This is a full time, permanent post.
