The role

We’re looking for a highly skilled, motivated and organised Marketing Officer to join our Faculty Marketing Team, directly supporting Bristol Veterinary School.

The Faculty Marketing team is responsible for leading and coordinating the University’s promotional and marketing activities, protecting and enhancing our reputation.

This Marketing Officer role will be based in a small team with specific responsibility for supporting Bristol Veterinary School’s marketing activity, including lead generation campaigns, maintaining and optimising digital channels and supporting with enhancing our reputation through the delivery of multi-channel marketing campaigns and activities to raise the profile of our teaching and research excellence.

What will you be doing?

You will assist the Marketing Manager to develop and implement innovative and inspiring marketing campaigns to support the Vet school’s ambitions and priorities. You will support researchers and professional services staff within the school to convey their world leading research and to reach prospective students across the globe.

You will support across a variety of marketing activities, including student recruitment campaigns and the promotion of academic research, spanning print and digital channels. As part of a busy marketing team you will assist in the delivery of marketing projects from brief to completion, on time and in budget, and include robust methods of evaluation to monitor their success and inform future campaigns. You will spend at least a day a month at the Langford campus and enjoy building relationships with the team (and animals!) there. The role is varied - you might be coordinating a photo shoot at our working dairy farm one month and copy-editing a research story about antimicrobial resistance the next. The team takes a blended working approach with opportunities to share best practice, professional development and insight with the broader marketing team.

You should apply if

You should have experience of working autonomously as well as part of a team, of sourcing and understanding content, data and information from various stakeholders and sources to inform your projects. Your experience should also include using insight to ensure content and use of channels is innovative and impactful.

As a team player you’ll be keen to learn and adopt new ways of working as well as sharing your knowledge and experience with the rest of the Faculty and Central marketing teams to help streamline processes and ensure we deliver the best service to our stakeholders.

Experience in a fast-paced, demanding marketing environment is desirable, as is experience of working in a large and complex organisation.
