Job description
The objective of the Decarbonisation Net Zero Programme is to assist small and medium sized enterprises (SMEs) in this region to reduce their carbon footprint. The project comprises a small, dedicated team, supported by academics across disciplines at Aston University led by the project lead, Professor Prasanta Dey. Based at Aston Business School, the project is seeking to recruit a Marketing Manager to support and coordinate activities across the West Midlands. The post will also work with partners to ensure consistent marketing across the region.
Funded by the West Midlands Combined Authority (WMCA), the role will involve marketing of the project to engage businesses in decarbonization processes, which includes but not limited to demonstrating the project to prospective businesses using both physical and virtual modes such as setting up workshop events, organizing business forum, hosting meetings one to many and one to one, developing contents for advertisement for trade journals, organizing forum jointly with trade bodies. The Marketing Manager will closely work with Project Manager to ensure effective demand management of the project, to collate data on activities delivered and to report on activities. The Marketing Manager will also engage in project evaluation and coordinate with business engagement managers for most effective delivery for audits.
Main duties and responsibilities include developing an extensive marketing communications plan to drive the project, under the direction of the Project Director. The role holder will facilitate recruitment of SME beneficiaries to engage with the project by working closely with the Project Manager and the Business Engagement Manager. This involves collating stories and events, including scientific articles into accessible content for multiple channels and audiences, they help to plan and deliver engagement best practice by working closely with the in- house PR & Communications team, with academic colleagues and project partners. The role holder will act as a central project contact point for all partners (internal and external).
The role is a full time position on a fixed term contract, based at Aston University campus with frequent visits to company premises in West Midlands region.
