Job Title: Marketing Manager

Reports to: Senior Marketing Manager

Location: Remote with occasional travel to Weymouth, Slouth and Hoeford

Basic Purpose of Role

Please note we would be open to part time hours for this role.

The primary focus of the role is to drive passenger growth across the Local Business Unit (LBU) by managing the local execution of end-to-end marketing campaigns that support commercial growth plans. These campaigns will address key strategic objectives for the LBU and look to drive significant KPI improvements around campaign awareness, brand perception, use of new technology, loyalty, price and ticket awareness. The marketing campaigns will ultimately contribute to increased revenue and patronage.

As a direct report to the Senior Marketing Manager, the role is a key member of the LBU Commercial team. The post holder will collaborate with colleagues across the LBU, and with marketing teams across the business, to develop and share best practice.

The Marketing Manager will act with integrity and role model First Bus values and behaviours (‘our way') across their business units and the broader business; and through effective

leadership and stakeholder management, they will ensure the needs of local authorities, investors, customers, partners, and colleagues are met.

Key Accountabilities

  • Effectively lead the Marketing Executive(s) with the Senior Marketing Manager to ensure the effective and timely delivery of local and business-wide marketing campaigns
  • Within a First Bus framework, manage the local execution of marketing campaigns for the LBU
  • Ensure marketing campaigns are executed within budget
  • Manage the end-to-end operational delivery and execution of marketing campaigns including: planning and customer insight; agency briefing; creative development; media planning and buying; internal communications; post campaign analysis; sharing of results.
  • Analyse customer insights and our CRM database with the aim of identifying commercial opportunities to drive growth through marketing
  • Share and deliver best practice campaigns across the LBU identifying areas with the greatest potential for maximising returns and adapting plans accordingly
  • Ensure that the First Bus brand and identity is adhered to in campaigns and in all communication channels
  • Introduce new and innovative marketing methods to the LBU
  • Identify opportunities for cost efficiencies in the marketing budget and plans
  • Other duties commensurate with the role as may be deemed appropriate by your line manager

Skills and Qualifications

  • Strong influencing and communication skills and the experience to challenge Senior Management in business-critical decisions when necessary
  • Good decision maker, with a strong understanding of the wider impact of marketing activity on the immediate business environment
  • Experience of delivering complex integrated marketing campaigns
  • Self-starting and
  • Approachable, a strong team player and effective leader
  • Work to tight deadlines and comfortable working in a dynamic, fast paced environment
  • Confident delivering strategic presentations and plans to colleagues at a senior level
  • Outstanding project management skills including budget & schedule management
  • Focus on high quality delivery with excellent attention to detail
  • Commercially focused
  • Must be able to interpret and represent the customer voice internally
  • Computer literate to produce MI and reports
  • Someone with a strong team ethic who can motivate others by their actions and behaviours
  • Experience of research and utilising customer insight
  • Extensive experience of managing partner agencies and stakeholder relationships
  • Degree educated in a marketing discipline and ideally hold a post graduate qualification in marketing
  • Experience of working in a B2C campaign setting would be beneficial
