The Opportunity

The purpose of this role is to raise awareness of the value Arup’s advisory, services bring, and in doing so strengthen our client relationships, position us for future work and build our reputation as the consultant of choice for clients seeking to build a sustainable future. Your work will influence many of our markets – including energy, transport and water – strengthening our reputation as an organisation that puts sustainable development at the heart of everything it does and is committed to creating a future that is decarbonised, resilient and equitable.


As a trusted advisor to leaders in our UKIMEA Advisory Services Portfolio, you will work closely with senior members of Arup to provide strategic marketing advice that focuses on achieving strategic intent and an ongoing commitment to Arup’s values.


You will develop and implement the annual marketing plan, ensuring activity is aligned with Arup’s global, regional and market-led marketing and communications programmes and campaigns. Key to success will be the working relationships you establish with a range of marketing and communications colleagues – from those focused on our markets, and specialists in fields such as digital marketing and social media, through to colleagues working in our other global regions.

Is this role right for you?

We are looking for people who :

  • Significant experience of business-to-business marketing within the consultancy / strategic sector. This experience will ideally be combined with a professional qualification in marketing, communications and/or stakeholder engagement. (e.g. CIM, CIPR).
  • Experience of developing marketing strategies and plans, including the creation and issue of direct-to-client content
  • An ability to integrate ideas and plans within wider programmes of marketing and communications activity, and an ability to prioritise multiple, parallel activities and to work both as part of a team and with autonomy
  • A personable and collaborative working style with strong skills in the comprehension and communication of ideas, founded on good listening and interpersonal skills, and a commitment to positive stakeholder management.
