Position – Marketing Executive – Content & Events Role

Department - Marketing and Communications

Location – Cardiff (Hybrid with 3 days office working)
Salary – Starting salary £28,213 up to £35,500 (DOE)

The Team

The Marketing & Communications team form part of the wider commercial function. We are currently going through an exciting period of change, and working towards a new strategy with a shift towards using digital media and channel marketing to truly connect with our customers and more importantly intermediaries. The team are based at HQ in Cardiff Bay and work with a network of offices throughout the United Kingdom and Ireland.


How you’ll make a difference…

We are looking for a self-starter to generate and distribute multi-channel content to raise awareness and drive engagement. With responsibility over working with our PR Agency, you will need to align PR and social activity to ensure a consistent stream of topical/trending content. Build broader audience base to educate and inform, generating increased engagement across owned media and third party channels. You will also need a keen eye for detail with events and copywriting forming a key part of the role.


What you’ll be doing...


  • Developing and managing content strategy in-line with short term and long term marketing goals.
  • Developing and managing PR strategy and control activities co-ordinated with the nominated Agency.
  • Lead on the planning and development of asset design, style and layout (i.e. blogs, videos, podcasts) working with external agencies where necessary.
  • Create and publish engaging content, optimising using SEO tactics with the assistance of other team members.
  • Manage the content distribution of online channels, including social media platforms and affiliate partners.
  • Maintains editorial and comms calendar in collaboration with agencies, updating regularly (monthly) in line with market and business needs.
  • Supports with creation and distribution of local internal and external communications.
  • Responsible for all analytic tools used for measuring performance against set KPIs.
  • Oversee and arrange engagement events with intermediaries from across the UK.


What you need to succeed…

Essential

  • A positive attitude and a commitment to learning
  • Strong analytical skills to measure performance of activity and deliver actionable insights to optimise marketing activity
  • Creative and innovative thinker, with the ability to maximise the use of different marketing channels
  • Excellent communicator, with the ability to influence and negotiate
  • Excellent organisational and project management skills

Prior experience is preferred, but full training will be provided.

Desirable

  • Commercially minded with experience in managing social media campaigns
  • Experience of working with third-party PR agencies and the press
  • Experience in copywriting
  • Knowledge of Adobe Creative Suite and Canva
