The WBDUK Marketing department constantly strives to create and maintain a best-in-class marketing function with an emphasis on lifetime value of WB content across release windows. All roles within the team are tasked with driving improved cross-divisional understanding, collaboration and expertise and in delivering an integrated approach to marketing content.
The Film and Games Marketing team is unique in the industry as it manages the development, implementation and evaluation of lifecycle marketing campaigns on film titles across their theatrical, premium video-on-demand and home entertainment (physical and digital release) new release windows alongside the new release and catalogue games slate.
As a team, we bring to life some of the most prolific films in the market such as The Batman, Elvis and Don’t Worry Darling. Alongside original IP we are responsible for marketing and growing releases from key franchises across Animation, DC Comics and Wizarding World.
In order to effectively work across such a huge slate and windows the team works in pods, collaborating across all aspects of titles. The opportunity is in one of these pods.
The Job
A key “number 2” role to support the marketing manager in one of the film pods, responsible for roughly one third of the new release film slate. The position demands a dedicated marketer to work across key WBD film titles through the whole new release lifecyle including franchise properties.
The Daily
- Lead support in the planning, implementation and evaluation of a predefined selection of titles.
- Optimizing marketing spend across all platforms in addition to synergies, insight & efficiencies.
- Work collaboratively with all marketing divisions and external agencies to develop and deliver against a holistic communications strategy.
- Be a film ‘brand champion’ ensuring strong communication and collaboration across divisions including Consumer Products, Games, Theatrical & Home Ent Sales, Brand Partnerships and TV distribution.
- Work closely with Publicity colleagues as the quality and availability of talent will inform your strategy and your budgets.
- Manage the creation & review of all relevant marketing material.
- Nurture effective working relationships with key contacts within Burbank Home Office and European teams.
- Identify and champion new growth opportunities across the film lifecycle
The Must Haves
- Relevant film marketing experience – other entertainment experience will be considered but film is strongly preferred.
- Excellent internal and external stakeholder management.
- The ability to juggle multiple projects simultaneously and perform under pressure in a fast-paced environment.
- A track record of managing budgets and understanding media, especially digital
- Experience in managing a P&L.
- Knowledge of the ever-evolving UK home entertainment digital and physical industry
- Empathy, inclusivity, open-mindedness, creativity, attention to detail.
- A curious approach and growth mindset.
- A passion for film and good judgement of what captures people’s attention.
- Excellent communication & presentation skills.
- A courageous outlook and interest in what is new and innovative.
- Line management experience preferred
