Main duties and responsibilities

Oxford Summer Courses is looking for an enthusiastic and highly organised Marketing Executive with a passion for writing and content creation to join our team at one of the fastest growing education companies in the UK (FT1000, 2020).

About the role

Working within the Marketing team, the Marketing Executive will be a key player in helping implement our marketing strategy that ties into the Marketing and Admissions departments’ objectives and wider company goals.

You’ll be supporting the Senior Digital Marketing Executive and Website Marketing Manager in producing content for use across our marketing channels, including researching and writing articles for the blog and producing different types of media for use across our social media, including Instagram, TikTok, Facebook, and LinkedIn amongst other channels.

As part of the role, you’ll also be responsible for ensuring that all marketing content for the year is collected during our summer courses, working closely with external photographers, videographers, and marketing interns during the summer months.

Main Duties include but are not limited to:

  • Produce marketing copy for a range of channels, including well-researched and SEO optimised blog articles in line with our brand positioning.
  • Conduct backlink research and outreach to drive SEO efforts.
  • Play a key role in content planning and contribute ideas to engage our target audiences.
  • Hands-on production of some content, such as TikTok videos and Insta reels to promote our courses to relevant audiences.
  • Undertake market and competitor research feed into our communications to enhance our brand presence.
  • Report on key metrics on a regular basis to support the content strategy.
  • Develop and hold relationships with freelancers and external partners.
  • Support and manage the content collection process during the delivery period in line with business needs.
  • Coordinate logistics over the summer, such as merchandise deliveries and photography and intern schedules to ensure everyone is where they need to be for optimal content capture.
  • Manage marketing inventory ensuring we have appropriate stock throughout the year.
  • Others as defined by evolving business needs for a rapidly growing business.

Person specification

Minimum requirements:

  • Degree in Creative Writing, English or Marketing (or equivalent.)
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills
  • Experience producing engaging content for social media audiences e.g. TikTok
  • Good analytical skill set.
  • Excellent organisation skills to be able to coordinate multifaceted projects
  • Enthusiastic, creative, and collaborative

Desirable attributes:

  • Experience within the education sector
  • Experience with marketing software, such as Hubspot, SEMRush, Google Analytics,
  • Meta Business Suite, CMS systems
  • Experience copywriting for a blog or similar
