Marketing Assistant
The Role
We are seeking a qualified Marketing Assistant, with 2 years or more industry experience, preferably within a B2B environment, to join our growing Insights and Market Team.
The purpose of this role is to assist in the development and delivery of marketing strategies and plans, and to contribute to the company’s profile-raising by supporting the promotion of current and new products and services, all of which support sustainability and the transition to the clean economy. This is a highly diverse role requiring a professionally minded individual with end-to-end marketing knowledge and experience.
If you are an adaptable, analytical, and articulate marketer with a solid understanding of market research techniques and methods, and a passion for climate targets, this is the ideal role for you.
What you’ll do
- Undertake market research and analyse market data, including competitor analysis, industry trends, and media monitoring to inform the development and review of departmental strategies and plans.
- Work with colleagues to produce marketing literature (including presentations and press releases) to augment the company’s presence in the market.
- Carry out market research and analyse reports and surveys.
- Produce content and edit detailed information, focusing on key selling points, and providing a clear and consistent message which is easy to understand for a wide range of stakeholders.
- Produce engaging marketing collateral for example newsletters, annual reports, and other promotional materials.
- Plan and execute effective marketing communication campaigns including website developments, digital marketing, and social media.
- Produce and update spreadsheets with statistical, financial and non-financial information.
- Assist in the organisation of promotional events and conferences, attending them when required to facilitate their success.
- Commission external content, photographers, designers and other related suppliers as and when required.
- Help to plan events to promote the company’s products and services.
- Support the development and updating of brand guidelines and templates as required.
About you
You will:
- Possess a Bachelor’s Degree in marketing or a similar business-related field, with 2 years or more relevant professional experience in a marketing role.
- Hold a CIM Qualification (highly desirable).
- Have a solid knowledge of marketing and research techniques and principles, and statistical and data analysis methods.
- Demonstrate excellent communication skills, both written and verbal, with the ability to communicate a wide range of technical information to a variety of audiences on a global scale, in different formats (not just digital).
- Be able to work collaboratively with a wide range of colleagues and engage confidently with a variety of stakeholders and customers.
- Possess a sound understanding/experience of producing targeted content in a variety of formats, copy writing and proof-reading.
- Demonstrate understanding of web content/design, web analytics and social media.
- Have a high attention to detail, driven by desire to make improvements.
- Possess the ability to manage and multitask a busy and varied workload.

Package Description
- Salary: £25,000 - £27,000 per annum, depending upon experience.
- Hours of work: Full time (35 hours), Monday to Friday with a one-hour lunch break.
- Benefits include: 25 days holiday, contributary pension, flexible/hybrid working, Employee Assistance Programme, Cycle-to-Work Scheme, Eyecare vouchers and free parking.
- Location: Sheffield, S10, office based with some home working.
