The Creative Services team at Brightpoint seeks a full-time Content Strategist who will be responsible for proactively creating engaging and dynamic content to promote the college, with a particular emphasis on web content for the recruitment and retention of students.
The Content Strategist will develop creative solutions for telling the Brightpoint story on the college’s website while ensuring the site is up-to-date and increasing our search engine optimization. To support these efforts, the Content Strategist will also be responsible for translating the Brightpoint story to the college’s social media platforms, as well as monitoring those channels, and supporting multi-channel campaigns that may include print, digital and other mediums. The role consists of content strategy, copywriting, editing, project management, coaching for internal content providers, and interpreting data to support strategic decisions and key initiatives at the college.
Successful candidates must be comfortable coordinating multiple projects simultaneously and leading a wide range of projects from start to finish. Candidates must be comfortable working under tight deadlines and have the ability to work independently, as well as collaboratively with the Creative Services team and partners from across the college.
This hybrid position is based at Brightpoint’s Midlothian Campus.
Minimum Qualifications:
Candidates must have:
  • Considerable, demonstrated knowledge of writing effectively for a variety of mediums, particularly professional websites, social media and other digital channels
  • Outstanding writing, editing and proofreading skills, with excellent attention to detail and experience developing content for multi-channel campaigns
  • Experience managing a professional website, professional social media channels and digital campaigns, including expertise in information architecture, search engine optimization tactics, Google Analytics and web/digital best practices
  • Experience with content management systems, databases, social media and digital marketing tools, as well as experience adapting to emerging technologies
  • Demonstrated ability to understand an organization’s functions/goals and make decisions to support those functions/goals
  • Demonstrated experience using data and analytics to inform communication strategies
  • Ability to take direction and turn it into actionable, measurable and scalable project plans
  • Experience creating and managing project plans and defining/meeting key project milestones
  • Ability to analyze project information, collaborate with clients and provide creative communications and marketing solutions
  • Ability to be flexible and to work independently and collaboratively on multiple projects
  • Exceptional customer service skills
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills
