The Email Marketing Specialist is responsible for overseeing Atria Senior Living’s email marketing efforts and includes day-to-day activities such as segmenting target audiences, creating long-term nurturing campaigns and short-term promotional blasts, operating drag-n-drop email builders, recommending best practices, testing A/B hypotheses and running performance reports on demand.
This role requires close collaboration with cross-functional internal stakeholders, our internal creative agency and external email service providers to build effective email campaigns and ensure they are on strategy, on-time, on-budget and delivering maximum return on investment.
- Campaign Building, Segmentation, Automation & Delivery
- Develop new campaigns and improve existing ones to increase engagement, nurture long-term customer relationships, and drive community tours to increase revenue over time.
- Grow the email database and own segmentation, tags and automated email response process to steadily increase personalization and use of dynamic content.
- Define, implement and maintain best practices for list management, optimization, and data quality, and troubleshoot automation activities.
- Work with marketing specialists, designers and writers to create engaging email campaigns and assist with quality control for all aspects of email communications including links, email and landing page content and subject lines.
- Manage the email calendar to inform optimal send dates.
- Continuous Improvement & Testing
- Regularly perform A/B tests on segmentation, subject lines, copy, offers, images and layout to optimize email campaign metrics and help shape ongoing email strategy.
- Design and implement lead scoring model.
- Analytical Reporting
- Track metrics, analyze, and interpret campaign performance (KPIs)
- Use data-driven insights to make actionable recommendations to marketing and sales stakeholders.
- Strategic Planning & Communication
- Combine past experience and previous learnings to formulate long-term objectives and short-term goals.
- Determine measurement plan and courses of action needed to achieve those objectives and goals.
- Gather and synthesize relevant data and effectively communicate strategic decisions to non-technical marketing and sales stakeholders.
- Consistently review plan and adjust as new data is gathered.
- Research and deliver quarterly universal trends and best practices presentation to internal agency team members.
- Onboard and manage external vendors.
- May perform other duties as needed and/or assigned.
- Bachelor’s Degree in Marketing/Communications.
- Two (2) or more years of email marketing strategy development, execution, management, and measurement.
- Experience with email marketing tools, best practices and platforms; ActiveCampaign, HubSpot, and Eloqua experience preferred.
- Basic experience/understanding of HTML/CSS/WordPress.
- Strong written, presentation, analytical, research, organizational, and verbal skills.
- Excellent teamwork, communication and time management skills.
- Project management experience with the ability to handle multiple high-priority projects at the same time, meet real-time deadlines, set and achieve project budgets and control quality.
