Location: Hybrid – your time will be split between our office/venue on Bristol Harbourside and your home, or wherever you like to work.
We’re happy to support flexible working – both through hybrid working and your working pattern. You just need to be able to attend key meetings, have some cross-over with the rest of the marketing team and deliver the responsibilities of the role.

Salary: £23,000 per annum
Contract: 12-month, fixed term contract with potential for extension
Working hours: Full time, 37.5 hours a week (1 FTE)

About the role
_Working closely with our marketing team, you’ll implement our reopening and recovery marketing strategies. You’ll help increase brand awareness, build back audiences and generate income at a critical but exciting time for us, as we build up to reopening.
_You’ll be joining a dynamic, creative and experienced team, supporting the delivery and evaluation of a variety of campaigns across web, email, social media and print. You’ll learn about the many different aspects of We The Curious – both commercial and charitable - whilst you develop your skills across the marketing mix.
_The Marketing team is part of our Audience department, which also includes Inclusion and Digital. Together we create meaningful relationships and rich, welcoming experiences.
What will you do in this role?
Role specific responsibilities
_Support the marketing team with the delivery and evaluation of campaigns to drive day ticket sales and footfall. This may include things like writing editorial, compiling newsletters, setting up paid social ads and engaging specific audience groups with targeted promotions.
_Create, write and evaluate social media content. Reactively respond to comments, enquiries and reviews. These responsibilities are shared with the marketing team.
_Promote our public programme of day and evening events by compiling PR listings, creating web events and playful social media content.
_Liaise with our partners across the city i.e. Visit West, Festival of Nature to amplify our efforts and make maximum noise about our activities. Identify and engage with relevant influencers and communities online.
_Play a key role in the organising and promotion of our reopening events. Help to ensure smooth running on the day
_Support the development of new assets by briefing external photographers and videographers and working with our in-house Graphic Designer. Manage model consent forms. Support external filming requests as required.
_Support the marketing team with the delivery of schools and home educator campaigns to drive education bookings. This may include things like updating web listings, researching advertising opportunities and creating engaging newsletters.
_Support the marketing team with the delivery of venue hire campaigns to generate income. This may include things like copywriting for brochures, paid social ads and supporting reopening events.
What will you do in this role?
General responsibilities

_Responsible for carefully following safeguarding policies and procedures and raising any concerns to manager/Designated Safeguarding Officer
_Promote charity messaging across your area of work wherever possible, with support from the development and marketing teams.
_General responsibility for departmental compliance with GDPR.
_Support the rest of Audience team with projects when required.
_Occasional out of hours work and travel to events.
What we're looking for from you
_Strong interest in delivering creative marketing campaigns, both on and offline. You'll be passionate about marketing and have an understanding of the fundamentals. You may have some experience in this area, or you may be looking to develop your skills and a career in marketing.
_Able to work as part of a team and independently. You’ll need to be self-motivated and able to organise your time, juggle different projects and meet deadlines.
_Passionate about social media and the potential it has for engaging new audiences and building communities.
_Strong written communicator and playful copywriter. You'll need to be able to translate complex topics (like our programming) into simple, engaging communications whilst embodying our brand values.
_An interest in audience research. Able to evaluate simple data sets (like social media stats) and draw conclusions.
_An interest in our work as a charity, our values and a desire to work with audiences with lived experiences that aren’t well represented in STEM (science, technology, engineering and maths) and the arts.
_You may not have worked in a cultural organisation before, or in an organisation like We The Curious. Perhaps you have worked in events, retail, leisure, technology or you may have gained some experience in a voluntary capacity – these are all transferrable contexts.
