We are delighted to be able to offer an exciting and rare opportunity for a Marketing Manager to join the Cultural Services team in Solihull, with responsibility for leading a team promoting the Core, its Theatre, the Libraries network and cultural development work throughout the Borough.
The venue
The Core is a thriving multi-purpose venue and flagship community building in Solihull’s town centre.
The Core Theatre is at the heart of the venue comprising a 336-seat raked theatre with a smaller multi-use Studio and a gallery. With over 67,000 tickets sold for over 250 performances each year, a busy programme of weekly classes, activities and exhibitions, plus its own highly regarded Encore Café Bar, the venue is key to the cultural landscape of Solihull and the wider area.
Introduced in 2023 the new Core Creatives also provides space for professional artists to develop their work and practice supporting Solihull’s cultural community at this vibrant venue.
The Core Library is the flagship in a network of thirteen libraries providing local library services throughout Solihull. From books, study spaces, local heritage and information services, our libraries are a focal point of their communities.
The role and key requirements
As Marketing Manager – Culture, you will manage the Marketing and Box Office team for the Core Theatre and have responsibility for the promotion of the cultural programme and resources at the Core and across Solihull. You will develop marketing plans and campaigns on all platforms. This will include managing the social media output, overseeing the production of seasonal brochure and other promotional material and the venue’s on-line presence.

To be successful in this role you will be an enthusiastic and highly motivated individual who has developed their marketing expertise and knowledge in a professional theatre, events, or similar environment. Confident in the use of IT, you will have knowledge of Box Office/ticketing systems and their marketing potential. You will have experience of staff management with the ability to lead, motivate and develop the Box Office and Marketing team. Communication and inter-personal skills will also be one of your key strengths, able to identify, engage and work effectively and collaboratively with a wide range of stakeholders, across multiple services and platforms.
