Marketing Assistant
SEA LIFE London; County Hall, Westminster Bridge Rd
London, GREATER LONDON, SE1 7PB
United Kingdom
Marketing is marketing, right? Not when its marketing for our three south bank attractions in London – SEA LIFE London, London Dungeon and Shrek’s Adventure! London.
We’re on the lookout for a Marketing Assistant to work alongside the Marketing Manager and help deliver the yearly marketing plans.
What we are looking for
This is entry level role, so whilst we don’t need you to have qualifications in the field, it is desirable that you have:
- Completed some marketing modules within a business school setting
- Strong attention to detail, organisational and prioritisation skills
- The confidence to build relationships with all levels of management
- Some knowledge and understanding of key marketing principles, however if you’re not there yet, we’re happy to get you up to speed
- Previously used and are familiar with the Adobe Suite (Photoshop, InDesign etc.) as well as being able to demonstrate the ability to evaluate design work
This is a very varied entry level role, giving the successful candidate a chance to inject some real creative flair alongside some basic office duties. On a normal day (if you can call it that!) you could find yourself supporting PR with some commercial filming, helping to create agency briefs for campaigns, managing the comp ticket log, diary management, writing social and CRM copy and updating websites!
You’ll be the day-to-day support to the senior team and therefore it’s essential that you create and build strong relationships with teams including Partnerships, Events, PR, Finance, and Insights. Maybe most importantly the Promotions and Trade teams as you’ll be creating and sharing core brand materials to optimise marketing opportunities with third parties.
Alongside all the internal stakeholders, you’ll need to extend your relationship building skills to agencies and will liaise with them to agree timetables for delivery and approvals, ensuring all stakeholders are kept up to date throughout the process.
As part of your supporting role, you will be collating, delivering, and sharing key stats and up to date information regarding market conditions, competitor analysis and current trends, as well as sharing key information relating to the brands (ticket sales, audience insights, sales data etc)
This role is a permanent contract, working full time. Whilst most of the role will be within business hours, we are looking for someone who is flexible and able to work evenings, weekends and bank holidays dependant on what activity is scheduled.
What’s in it for you
Alongside a truly inclusive culture where everyone is encouraged to be themselves at work and have access to career enabling development opportunities, we can also offer:
- A discretionary company bonus of up to 5% of your salary
- Access to an employee perks website offering discounts on everything from hotel stays to wellbeing classes
- Travel loan scheme
- Merlin Magic Pass – allowing you, your family, and friends free entry into our attractions globally!
- 40% online LEGO discount
Everyone Matters at Merlin.

We strive to create an inclusive and diverse workplace where people can be themselves, have the same opportunities and thrive together. Because at Merlin, everyone matters! Although we understand that we'll always be learning and growing, we aim to be the most inclusive and flexible employer in our industry.
